MCPC Invites Cleveland Area Residents to Drop Off Old Electronics for Recycling at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo
Held on Earth Day, this one-day drop-off gives residents a convenient way to recycle electronics responsibly.
CLEVELAND, April 20, 2026 — MCPC, in partnership with Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and Cleveland Zoological Society, will host its sixth annual electronics recycling drop-off on Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. The event reflects MCPC’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and community engagement.
By hosting this one-day drop-off, MCPC is giving residents a convenient and environmentally responsible way to recycle old or unwanted electronics. Proper recycling helps keep those items out of landfills while allowing valuable materials to be recovered and reused.
“We are excited to once again collaborate with Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and Cleveland Zoological Society for our sixth annual electronics recycling drop-off,” said Mike Trebilcock, Chairman and CEO of MCPC. “By making electronics recycling more accessible, this event helps support responsible recycling practices and greater environmental awareness across our community.”
The event will give residents an opportunity to safely dispose of a wide range of electronic devices, including computers, laptops, monitors, printers, and televisions. Collected items will be handled through responsible recycling processes designed to keep hazardous materials out of landfills and recover valuable components for reuse.
“Our partnership with MCPC has been extraordinary. We are thrilled to have the MCPC truck at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo for the sixth consecutive year. It’s a meaningful event that allows us to do our part to encourage responsible and sustainable recycling of old electronics and continue our work at the intersection of healthy people, animals and the environment,” said Dr. Chris Kuhar, Executive Director of Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. “For more than two decades, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo has been a leader in conservation by advising and funding partners in the field who are working to protect species most at risk around the world. Zoos also play an important role in international wildlife conservation efforts and have a unique opportunity to educate and inspire guests by showing how animals in their communities are ambassadors for those in the wild.”
The MCPC “Go Green Machine” truck will be at the event, helping educate residents about responsible electronics recycling and the link between mineral sourcing and gorilla conservation. Recycling old electronics helps keep valuable materials in use while supporting broader environmental awareness.
Please note: The event is open to residents only and is not intended for commercial or business recycling. Businesses with office equipment or larger volumes of e-waste are encouraged to contact MCPC’s STAD center directly to arrange commercial recycling services.
