MCPc Cyber Education Center at Mercyhurst University

On August 2nd, more than 150 guests joined MCPc and Mercyhurst University for the opening of the MCPc Cyber Education Center on the school’s campus in Erie, Pennsylvania. Event speakers included: former Pennsylvania Gov., Tom Ridge,; U.S. Rep., Mike Kelly;, Mercyhurst University President, Michael Victor;, Erie Insurance CEO, Tim NeCastro; and MCPc CEO, Andy Jones.

Speaking about the MCPc Cyber Education center, Andy Jones stated, “It acknowledges the visionary leadership of President Victor and the role the Ridge College plays in preparing  students to meet the country’s ever-rising demand for a skilled workforce in cybersecurity. Our goal is a steady stream of talent that not only satisfies MCPc’s demand but every company’s need in the region for such talent.”

The project announced last year, is encompassing of a state-of-the-art academic facilities where students will develop cyber and intelligence skills and an MCPc Security Operations Center  where they will put them to use. Already, MCPc has hired 16 students from the Ridge College of Intelligence Studies and Applied Sciences who will work in the SOC on campus.
