Bob Eckman
Chief Information Security Officer

At MCPc, Bob leads cyber risk management activities to enhance the value of the company and its brand as one of the nation’s leaders in the field of device and data security – or Secure Technology Logistics. He oversees a network of cyber security directors and vendors who safeguard the  company’s assets, intellectual property and computer systems, as well as the physical safety of employees and visitors. He does the same for MCPc’s customers, including all the work we do in the healthcare field. He helps hospitals identify cyber protection goals, objectives and metrics consistent with their strategic plans. That includes managing the development and implementation of global cyber security policy, standards, guidelines and procedures to ensure on going maintenance of security and working with CFO’s to prioritize cyber security initiatives and spending based on appropriate risk management and/or financial methodology. Eckman explains that in some cases it is tools and technologies that provide defense, and in others it is providing creative strategies that provide a high assurance that their most important assets will be adequately protected. “Security provides me a necessary dichotomy, a balance between what drives business and what protects business. The most important element in understanding security is the comprehensive nature of cyber security. As we are now witnessing with the explosion of The Internet of Things, or IOT, these technologies often lack configuration management, create insecure networks and create many new threat vectors for companies.
