Network Printer Environment Assessment and Optimization
There is an art to achieving a balanced printing and imaging environment. It involves understanding the role of all print devices on your network and how to use them to their full capacity. If done properly, an organization can realize significant savings through an optimized print environment.
Analyzing the Network Print Environment
MCPc has built a
proven analytical engine to help understand your document output costs and eliminate any unknown variables associated with your print environment. Our experts then analyze this information to identify opportunities to better utilize the current fleet.
We first look at your complete printing environment to find ways to reallocate printers. For instance, we may recommend moving an underutilized printer to a department where heavy printing is common.
Our experts then look for ways to
optimize how individual devices are being used, whether it is configuring printers to automatically print double-sided or changing a setting so that all emails are printed in monochrome instead of color.
We also perform a
total-cost-of-ownership analysis using our proven cost-per-page methodology. This methodology considers 21 different attributes to identify if a printer is an asset or a cost burden. Some of these attributes include:
- Cost of supplies
- Cost of maintenance kits
- Power needs
- Warranty cost
- Service fees
- Location as it relates to its users
Optimization Strategy
MCPc compiles its findings and provides you with a document containing all of our recommendations. Depending on your internal IT capabilities, we can work with you as needed to implement any or all of these recommendations.
Benchmarks are then set to gauge the effectiveness of our optimization efforts. As often as needed, we
compare real-time data to these benchmarks to identify any savings, as well as flag any new issues that arise.
Optimizing a print environment is not a one-time activity. It takes time, and requires constant monitoring and tweaking. For this reason, your MCPc consultant is assigned to the project for as long as you are a customer of ours, ensuring that you always have a partner who thoroughly understands your business and objectives.
