Image Development and Testing

Initiated during the Technology Assessment and carried out in the Staging and Kitting stage, MCPc develops specific software profiles, or images, of your company’s end users based on their job descriptions and technology needs. Images typically include:

• Secure VPN connections to client locations
• Intel vPro^tm
• Computer account within active directory
• Custom operating system settings
• New or harvested software applications and registrations
• Network driver mapping
• Network printer installation
• Data migration from current unit

We then follow a rigorous testing certification process, treating each image like its own software application. The coding and testing standards established during this process are then adhered to when developing any further images, or undergoing any new configurations.

Image Review with Customer and Certification

To ensure that PC images we develop are accurate and ready for immediate deployment, we follow a disciplined image certification process with all customers. Each certification process includes:

• Obtaining and building adequate test cases
• Imaging a test machine and executing test cases
• Performing a final customer acceptance test and full regression testing
• Conducting a root cause analysis for any failed test case and updating the test plan
• Promoting the image to production following customer approval

Secure Image Storage and Management

Once images have been approved, MCPc archives them and maintains specifications on your project’s SharePoint site. To ensure that all images are current and contain the most recent updates, MCPc regularly applies Microsoft and/or application patches as needed. This process includes full regression testing and customer acceptance before pushing any updated or new images to your computer systems.

Image installation and configuration on customer request

Upon your request, we immediately begin configuring the number of computer systems required with the specified desktop images. Depending on the situation, we can handle anywhere between one and several hundred image configurations at one time.

Unlike our competitors, we take our solutions one step further by offering Zero-Touch Deployment solutions. Through Zero-Touch Deployment, we individually configure systems for your company by department and specific end user. This type of customized imaging and configuration solution eliminates any need for your employees to spend their valuable time applying personal settings on their new computers.

Staging, Kitting and Deployment

Upon completion of the imaging and configuration process, the technology is stored in our warehouse until requested by the customer. From here it is kitted to be out-of-the-box ready, and then deployed to the end user.
