Business Need
After building a new regional manufacturing and office facility, the customer required complete multimedia conference room technologies that would improve productivity and increase communications with other remote offices. They required a secure, state-of-the art audio visual (AV) solution with presentation hardware for nine conference and training rooms as well as an onsite digital messaging system. Ease-of-use and end user experience were major concerns as success of this implementation hinged on company-wide adoption of the new virtual collaboration solutions.
Solution
MCPc developed an integrated end-to-end solution for the entire 100,000-square-foot facility, networked to push content wherever it was needed. The nine-room installation included seven Corporate Communication Centers — equipped collaboration spaces with high resolution LCD projection systems and multimedia-switching architecture. In addition, two large venue projection systems were installed with automated projection screens. Of these, the executive conference room was also equipped with a high-definition Polycom system to create a secure video-conferencing suite.
Audio reinforcement systems with wireless microphones were integrated into training rooms, and the manufacturing suite was outfitted with a digital messaging system that keeps employees up-to-date on major projects and company news. Integrated control systems in each technology intensive space allow users to manage all multimedia functionality from a single, intuitively designed touch panel interface – similar to the use of a home universal remote.
MCPc continued to design the solution with the customer and was able to develop a plan that worked within new budgetary constraints while still fulfilling all security and technology requirements. Overall, MCPc leveraged its relationships with nearly 25 manufacturers to create a multi-vendor, integrated solution within the customer’s budget of $200,000.
Results
The customer has seen increases in meeting productivity and cost-savings from reduced travel by using Corporate Communication Centers to improve everyday business processes. Employees no longer need to fly to other branch locations for meetings as the newly outfitted conference rooms offer efficient collaboration solutions. The customer is also able to complete internal business processes more quickly by brainstorming and sharing information between branches in real-time, anytime. Employees are impressed with the new technology and increased functionality it provides. Even those less familiar with this modern technology are able to run meetings efficiently due to its ease of use.
This virtual collaboration solution was custom-designed and implemented to meet the customer's specific requirements. They have seen dramatic increases in productivity as well as cost savings.
